IReconstructive surgery
As reconstructive plastic surgeons we are commonly involved in the broad spectrum of defect reconstructions after trauma and cancer.
IIPeripheral nerve surgery
Peripheral nerves may be entrapped at different sites in our body or become damaged. This may lead to serious disabilities due to sensory and muscle function loss, as well as so-called neuropathic pain.
IIIPediatric plastic surgery
A large proportion of our daily practice as plastic surgeons in the Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital encompasses treating congenital defects such as harelips (cleft lip and palates), skull deformities (craniosynostosis), small ears (microtia), and hand- and feet deformities.
IVHand surgery
Hand surgery is a broad subspecialty in plastic surgery that has wide practice variations. This is partially caused by the rare nature of some disorders or the diverse presentation of others.
VRegenerative surgery
As regenerative surgeons, we focus on restoring form and function by harnessing biological repair and tissue regeneration strategies, particularly in the context of trauma, oncologic defects, and complex reconstructive challenges.
